Bio:
Gina Crist has spent her whole life as a Delaware Blue Hen and is a UD alumna with a bachelor's degree in Dietetics and a master's degree in Health Promotion. Gina joined the Cooperative Extension team in 2017 as a Community Health Specialist after spending seven years focused on childhood obesity prevention for a children's hospital. Her passion is in building partnerships that work to help make it easier for all Delawareans to be as healthy as possible.
In this position, Gina provides leadership to the community health and wellbeing work of UD Extension, working with multiple coalitions throughout the state. As part of this work, she works with a team to develop and oversee the Master Wellness Volunteer Program that trains youth and adult community members to be community health leaders. Gina oversees the Delaware SNAP-Ed program's work, which is focused on educating youth and adults on healthy foods on a budget and increasing access to healthy foods and physical activity opportunities throughout the state. She also teaches in the Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition.
In her spare time, Gina loves to walk and run, spend time with friends and family, bake and read. Most of her spare time is spent with her husband and young son, often at the Delaware beaches!
