Orientation
International Student Orientation (ISO) and other pre-arrival and welcome events are designed to help you transition to UD and the U.S. and to complete government check-in so you can be registered in SEVIS. Note that there are separate mandatory orientations based on academic level. Learn more about those below.
At ISO, UD leadership and CGPS immigration advisors share information about everything you need to know to maintain your visa and student status and get connected to services at UD. ISO is mandatory for new international students.
Global Welcome Days
Wednesday, January 28
Hospitality Suite
Elliott Hall | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Stop by Elliott Hall to get important resources when you first arrive on campus. All new international students can drop in to set up your bank account, get a free SIM card and get IT support (to connect with UD’s WiFi network).
Undergraduate students: Early check in at the Residence Halls is available for new undergraduate students. Register in the My Housing Portal.
Optional Campus Tour
Start at Elliott Hall
A campus tour will be led by current students begin at 10 a.m. Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking around central campus for 45 minutes. Register for the optional tour when you register for ISO.
Thursday, January 29
Hospitality Suite for Early Check-In
Elliott Hall | 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
If you are checking in early to your on-campus housing on Thursday, you can stop by Elliott Hall to store your luggage for the day until you move in.
Friday, January 30
International Student Orientation
Trabant University Center
Lunch: 1:00 p.m. | Food Court
ISO* program: 2:00 p.m. | Multipurpose Rooms
*International Student Orientation (ISO) is a mandatory program for all new international students. At this orientation, you will learn about immigration regulations, engagement opportunities, and hear from other offices on campus who are available to support you. Arrive at 1:00 p.m. for optional free lunch.
Welcome International Coffee Hour
4:00 - 6:00 p.m. | Trabant University Center Concourse
Following International Student Orientation, socialize with your fellow new international students at the Welcome International Coffee Hour with games, free coffee, tea and snacks. This weekly tradition may become your favorite activity every Friday!

Undergraduate Students
All new undergraduate students must participate in New Student Orientation. Be sure to complete the New Student Checklist on that page.
Graduate Students
Details about Graduate Student Orientation (GSO) will be shared by the Graduate College.
