Admissions & Immigration Services

Please be aware that different university offices assist with the various steps of the UD admission process. Understanding which office can best assist with your question will help you find the information you need quickly.

The Office of Admissions and the Graduate College are responsible for evaluating applications and making admission decisions. If you have questions about application requirements, admission decisions, academic programs, transfer credit, or scholarship opportunities, please contact the appropriate admissions office directly.

The Center for Global Programs & Services (CGPS) is here to support you throughout your journey. After accepting your admission offer, your first step is to request your Form I-20 or DS-2019 through the link provided in your admission portal. CGPS will review your request, issue your immigration documents, and help you prepare for your arrival.

Throughout your time at UD, CGPS provides immigration advising and guidance on maintaining your immigration status. We offer workshops on employment benefits such as CPT and OPT, along with cultural programs, coffee hours, social events, and other activities designed to support your academic, professional, and personal growth while helping you build connections within the UD community.

If you have questions at any stage of the immigration process, please contact CGPS. We are here to help.

If you are currently studying in the U.S. in F-1 or J-1 status and plan to attend UD, CGPS can help with the transfer of your F-1 or J-1 SEVIS record The SEVIS transfer process is separate from your admission to the University and can only begin after you have been admitted and have confirmed your intent to enroll.

After accepting your admission to UD, you will receive a link to the I-20/DS-2019 request form through your admissions portal. As part of that request, please provide information related to your current SEVIS record and your planned transfer to UD. CGPS will use this information to accept your SEVIS transfer record and issue the new I-20 or DS-2019. If you have questions about the transfer process, please contact CGPS for assistance.
