  • Utilizing dairy cattle and equine phenotypes to identify unique gastrointestinal microbial populations and microbial activities by combining classical anaerobic culture methods with next generation sequencing technologies. 
  • Comparative sample handling and data analysis in microbiome research for sample preservation and integrity. 
  • Investigate the potential of novel probiotics to improve animal welfare and establish microbial infrastructure within the early-life microbiome to improve animal welfare and productivity through the gut-brain axis.
