Overview
At the Center for Counseling and Student Development (CCSD), our intention is to assist with your professional development through support and accountability. When an associate clinician is hired, they receive regular clinical supervision from a member of the staff who is licensed within their professional domain. This oversight goes beyond the ethical requirements for our field. It is intended to provide accountability to the new staff members, the supervisors and the center to provide a meaningful safety net for our new staff members. One goal for all new clinical staff is to achieve licensure in their field, and supervision is expected to be a meaningful resource in that effort. In addition, there are built-in meetings with additional leadership staff members who will assist and check in with you regarding your efforts and progress.
What's it Like Working at CCSD?
Each day varies! It involves a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, triage, crisis appointments, staff meeting, case consultation, outreach and consultation with students, faculty or staff. It's hard work and we are very passionate about what we do. The staff has a deep commitment to training and supervision and see the associate clinician position as a critical year in refinement of clinical skills and development of professional identity as a licensed practitioner. We also like to smile and laugh when possible and connect with each other in doing our work!
Who Would Thrive at CCSD?
At our core, we value clinical excellence and teamwork. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about practicing at the top of their field, delivering quality clinical services to a diverse group of students. The work we do can be hard, so being able to remain flexible and composed while responding to the various demands is a must. We also believe that we truly work better as a team, collaborating to provide for the mental health needs of our campus community. So, if you like to lean into differing opportunities, provide top clinical services and initiating collaboration with peers, we might be the place for you!
