University of Delaware Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce the hiring of Nick Adams as a New Castle County Extension Agent, tasked with delivering non-formal educational programming to agriculture producers, industry and the citizens of Delaware.

A native of New Castle County, Nick is a proud alumnus of the University of Delaware and holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant & Soil Science and Agriculture & Natural Resources with a minor in Soil Science from the UD College of Agriculture & Natural Resources.  He recalls fondly the relationships he was able to build with fellow students and professors and he enjoyed working on the Newark Farm and being an Ag Ambassador for the college. 

Since graduating, he has worked for Helena Agri-Enterprises, facilitating their precision agriculture program. More recently, he has served as a Soil Conservationist for the Natural Resource Conservation Service, where he facilitated Farm Bill programs to help producers improve operations and establish stronger agricultural conservation practices.

In his role as Extension Agent II, Nick will work with a diversity of farming operations in New Castle County. He will collaborate with partnership organizations to offer educational programs, technical assistance, and general support to the agricultural community.

Nick is a Volunteer Firefighter at Odessa Fire Company and in his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, cooking and spending time with his family, friends and dog, Shadow!

Nick began working out of the New Castle County Extension Office earlier this month.
