4-H is the place where learning is fun, whether it takes place in your school, at camp, in your community or at the University of Delaware. There are plenty of exciting adventures that you can have in your community, state, country and all over the world.
If you think that 4-H is just for rural kids, you will be surprised to find out that you are wrong. Delaware 4-H has something for each of the over 36,000 young people who participate in 4-H each year.

‘Kick up some fun’ with UD at the fair

She’s ready to “kick up some fun,” the theme of this year’s event. “I’m excited to see my friends,” said the 6-year-old Cloverbud, a pre-4-Her from Seaford, Delaware. “I’ve been working on crafts, sewing, drawing and singing.” -
Ag in the Family
July 15, 2025 | Written by Molly SchaferDouble Dels Gregg and Stephanie (Cannon) Knutsen met 26 years ago as undergraduates at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Knutsens run G&S Dairy, one of Delaware’s few remaining dairy farms. Attending the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources is now a family tradition. The Knutsens’ eldest daughter, Bethany, a member of UD’s award-winning Soils Judging Team, graduates in December. -

Delaware teens travel to National LifeSmarts Competition
May 02, 2025 | Written by: Keith and Rebecca Johnson, 4-H volunteersFor the third year in a row, Delaware 4-H was well represented at the National LifeSmarts Competition, held this year in Chicago, IL, at the Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, April 24-27, 2025. This year’s competition marked the 31st anniversary of LifeSmarts, the youth consumer education program of the National Consumers League. Forty-six student teams from high schools and various student organizations traveled nationwide to compete in the four-day event. The 2025 Delaware team ended in a multi-way tie for 6th place.
