UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE CAREER FAIRS & MEETUPS

 

The Career Services Center offers a variety of career fairs and meetups throughout the academic year. We offer boutique events based on our industry focused communities to bring talented Blue Hens and employers together. Most events are open to all matriculated UD students and alumni. Spring Career & Internship Fairs

FEBRUARY 19, 2019 ~ 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Two fairs - one day!


The Engineering, Science & Technology Fair and the All Majors Fair will connect employers with over 1,750 University of Delaware undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities from a wide variety of fields.

We will ask you to choose one fair location - but don't worry you will be able to advertise by major, career community and with the available opportunities listed within Handshake to reach all attending students! The fairs are only separated by a small hallway which will allow students to easily access both fairs!


Schedule:

  • 3:00pm – 3:30pm: Seniors & Grad Student Only Power Half Hour – Get early access to students seeking full-time positions!  
  • 3:30pm – 6:30pm: Engineering & Technology Fair & All Majors Fair for all students and alumni


Note:
Students are encouraged to dress for the job they want - no professional attire required - to increase attendance between classes and include students who may not have yet purchased a suit.

The 2019 Spring Career & Internship Fairs will take place at University of Delaware's Newark Campus:

  • Check-in: 12:30pm to 2:30pm
  • Seniors & Grad Student Only Power Half Hour: 3:00pm - 3:30pm
  • Career Fairs: 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Registration fees based on organization type are as follows:

■ $675 - Third Party & Staffing Organizations

■ $525 - For Profit Organizations
■ $425 - Government Entities
■ $325 - Non-Profit

Additional representatives are $40.00 each.

If you have more than three total representatives at one table, it requires the purchase of an additional table for your organization. $400.00 - For-Profit Organizations, $300.00 for Government Entities, $200.00 for Non-Profit.

Cancellation Policy & Refund Schedule:


Cancellation Prior to January 23rd, 2019 at 5:00pm – 100% Refund or no expectation of payment

Cancellation between January 23rd, 2019 after 5:00pm – February 6th, 2019 at 5:00pm – 75% Refund or expectation of 25% payment

Cancellation after February 6th, 2019 at 5:00pm – No refund will be issued and full payment is due

Cancellations must be received in writing to Amy Rees at amyrees@udel.edu. Should cancellation not be submitted in the above terms; no refund or excuse from payment will be issued.

Should the Spring Career & Internship Fairs be cancelled due to extreme inclement weather, the fair will be rescheduled to a new date within 10 days of the original date. Should an employer not be able to attend the rescheduled date, refunds or advancing registration to a future fair will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Parking Map & Information - PLEASE DO NOT drive directly to The Little Bob - Parking IS NOT available on site! Please park at The Bob Carpenter Center at 631 S. College Avenue. Shuttles will be offering service to The Little Bob. Please allow extra travel time to include shuttle transportation between the venues. You do not need a parking pass to park at The Bob Carpenter Center. You are welcome to drop off your items at the Little Bob before parking your vehicle.

Shuttles will be available approximately every 10 minutes.

 

Shipping Materials:

IF YOU PLAN TO SHIP your materials they need to arrive NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, 2/12/19. Send your materials to the Career Services Center using the address below, clearly marked with "HOLD FOR SPRING CAREER & INTERNSHIP FAIRS". Your shipped items will be brought to The Little Bob and will be delivered to your booth.

Two fairs - one day!

Summer Externship Networking Night

The Summer Externship Networking Night is open to employers interested in networking with undergraduate students with an expected graduation date between December 2020-May 2022 for their summer externship/leadership programs. 

Students will have the opportunity to go around to different tables in Lerner Atrium and interact with the employers and learn about summer externship opportunities and how to apply. This networking night is targeting students interested in the professional services industry (accounting, finance and IT).

A free networking event connecting employers and alumni in advertising, public relations, media and branding with students in communications, design, marketing, English and other majors who are seeking career advice, internships, freelance gigs and full-time jobs.

Details:

- Free to attend. Organizations are encouraged to send UD alumni if they are available to attend. 

- Each organization will receive a high top table for one to two representatives and a table sign.

- Light refreshments will be served.

University of Delaware students are eager to make a positive impact! If you are in the non-profit and public service sectors or a government agency, this event is for you! The Public Service & Social Impact Career Meetup will provide the opportunity for you to connect with UD students and share information on internships, fellowships, research, and job opportunities with your organization. Employers are encouraged to bring UD alumni that are currently working in your organization.

This event is open to graduating teacher education and related majors (and alumni) who are interested in learning about anticipated K-12 hiring needs for Fall 2019.  Come meet representatives from over 200 schools and school districts from across the nation to learn about opportunities including teachers, counselors, para-educators, administrators, specialists, and more!

Suggested dress code is business professional.  Bring multiple copies of your resume to share with the recruiters.

 

Registration:

UD students and alumni may register at the Career Center between 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday from 12/1/18 to 3/29/19.  Students should ask for Stacy Purse to register.  Students must register in person to receive their DVEC nametag, which is their entry to the event.

Come meet representatives from Delaware public, private and charter schools to learn about anticipated vacancies for Fall 2019, or to simply explore Education as a possible career field. Representatives will be able to discuss K-12 positions such as: teachers, counselors, para-educators, administrators, specialists, and more!

Suggested dress code is business casual to business professional. Bring copies of your resume to share with the recruiters (highly recommended but not required).  While the event is primarily for conversations and information, some representatives may invite students/candidates to return to their table between 11am-1pm for further conversations and/or interviews; this would be arranged during the 9-11am open hours.  The event is free to attend.

Experiential Learning for the Health Professions meetup

The Experiential Learning for the Health Professions Meetup will provide an opportunity for you to connect with UD students and share information about your career path and organization. This event is explorartory and information gathering for students interested in the health professions.  You can also provide information about opportunities to gain experience within your organization.

Employers are encouraged to bring UD alumni that are currently working in your organization.

The dress code is business casual.  Light refreshments will be served.
