UD team builds living shoreline in Lewes
April 03, 2026 | Written by Bill Shull | Cape GazetteUniversity of Delaware researchers, including landscape architect and Ph.D. student Leigh Muldrow, have built a living shoreline to protect the Lewes boat basin from erosion caused by rising sea levels. The 400-foot-long living shoreline will eventually become a haven for fish and a destination for recreational fishing. -
Developing leadership skills at the Delaware FFA State Convention at UD

This was the second year in a row the FFA state convention was held at UD. The students practiced their public speaking skills, learned about agricultural marketing and communications, helped protect a creek from future flooding, and more. -
Conservation in Tanzania

During the Winter 2026 study abroad program, the intrepid students learned and saw firsthand how wildlife and people can thrive alongside each other.

Riding with technology
University of Delaware students enrolled in AGRI 130 spent their third Saturday field trip driving specialized farm equipment (combine and tractor) equipped with precision agriculture. With prices exceeding in some cases more than three-quarters of a million dollars, it was a unique hands-on experience.
