Application for 2026-2027 Dietetic Internship (Summer 2026 start)

• August 5, 2025 – Applications open in DICAS
• October 1, 2025 – Fall application deadline at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
• November 1, 2025– Final applicant notification date. Applicants may be notified of our decision prior to this date.
• November 15, 2025 – Applicant final decision date for fall application cycle.
• November 16, 2025 – If any openings remain after the applicant final decision date, open enrollment begins for applicants still seeking a program seat.
• December 15, 2025– Fall open enrollment closes at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time.

Mandatory 2026 Orientation Week: Week of July 13, 2026

Open Enrollment

In the event there are open spots after the November 15th applicant decision deadline, our program will accept additional applications during the open enrollment period between November 16 - December 15, 2025. Interested applicants must submit their DICAS and UD Graduate applications as described above. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

If spots remain available after the open enrollment period, this program will participate in the Spring 2026 application cycle.  Please check back for availability and application instructions after December 22, 2025.

Program Schedule

The following are the rotation lengths for each rotation of the internship with a minimum of 38 hours per week. Interns are expected to be present at their rotation sites Monday through Friday with the exception of the online class held on Tuesday mornings from 9:35-10:55 am Eastern Time.

Full-time
Orientation – 1 week
Clinical Nutrition – 12 weeks
Food Service Management – 7 weeks
Community Nutrition – 6 weeks
Elective – 3 weeks
Total 29 weeks

All rotations and assignments must be completed satisfactorily before a Verification Statement certifying program completion is issued.
