Ag Ambassadors

Our student Ag Ambassadors are volunteer representatives of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

These enthusiastic students provide tours to prospective students and families, attend special events, and promote the programs and college's four departments. As an Ag Ambassador, students gain personal and professional growth through the variety of activities they participate in throughout the year. For more information on how to become an Ag Ambassador, email anr-academics@udel.edu.

What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

I like that CANR has an unprecedented availability of resources that students can go to for questions or to learn how to get more involved, a versatile staff who are all approachable and accessible which is beneficial in that students can learn from many different professors with many different backgrounds/experiences, and an overall inclusiveness and sense of community where all CANR students are always welcome and appreciated.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

My most memorable CANR experience would have to be Ag Day my freshman year. It was a beautiful day filled with fun, friends, games, and laughter. I felt so happy and proud to be a part of the CANR community here at UD!

What are your career goals?

I hope to become a veterinarian, perhaps for small animal and exotics, and I hope to work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly challenging me.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

I do not like seafood!

What is your favorite book, movie or song?

My favorite song would have to be "Give Me Love" by Ed Sheeran, who also happens to be my favorite artist.

What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

I love the people that make up the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. All the success of CANR is definitely linked to the students and faculty which comprise it. I love the similar classes and clubs that allow students to get involved and allow them to mingle among those with similar interests as them. Seeing familiar faces from CANR clubs around main campus makes the school seem a lot smaller and closer! I also love all the faculty involvement in the extracurricular side of CANR. The various club and Greek organization mentors serve as fantastic role models who really promote involvement in the college as a whole. I also like the smaller school inside of a larger school experience which CANR provides. I have a chance to interact with students from all majors in my dorm, breadth classes, and in clubs outside of CANR, but with the smaller group of familiar faces, I feel at home in my major classes and will always appreciate the support network of this college.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

My most memorable CANR experience was the Animal Science Club holiday party at Dr. Griffith's house. After taking her intro to animal science class first semester, it was fun to see the variety of animals she had in her own home. This party happened to fall on my busiest night of the week, but I planned ahead and rearranged my schedule for the day so that I could go, and it was definitely worth the effort. Bonding with my current classmates, older members of the CANR community, and new friends that I still have today, this event definitely proved how worthwhile each CANR experience is.

What are your career goals?

My career goals are to attend veterinary school, and work as a veterinarian for as long as I possibly can! Whether it's working with large, small, wildlife, exotic, aquatic, or any type of animals, I know that working with animals will be the most rewarding experience I can get on a day to day basis, and I know that it will make me happy as I hope to make a difference in the lives of both animals and all those people who care for them.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

I got scuba certified for a week in Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean and got to swim with a sea turtle!

What is your favorite book, movie or song?

Movie: The Princess Bride

What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

What's not to like about the CANR? My favorite part of this college is how connected it is, even though it's a large campus everyone in this school gets to know their peers and professors quite well.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

So far my most memorable experience at UD has been meeting new people. There is such a diversity between students that you never know what you're going to learn about them. One event that CANR held that enabled me to do this was the CANR Fall Fest.

What are your career goals?

One day I hope to work for DNREC or the USDA or an organization or company similar to them. I want to have a career that makes a difference in the Agriculture community.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

Interesting fact about myself is that I have three brothers and wouldn't trade them for the world.

What is your favorite book, movie or song?

Book: "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini

What do you like about the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources?

The students and faculty are all so kind and helpful. Being a part of CANR means feeling like everyone around you wants you to succeed and be happy doing it.

What is your most memorable AG or UD experience?

I love Ag Day! Being a local, I've been coming to Ag Day for many many years, and there's always new and exciting things each time! I remember that last year there was an African porcupine there from a local zoo and it nuzzled my hand which was absolutely delightful. It's such a blast and it's great to share what we do with the community.

What are your career goals?

I hope to blend my two majors and manage populations of threatened or endangered plants and help them flourish.

What is an interesting or unusual fact about you?

I have tried every non-rotating flavor of UDairy ice cream and I aim to eventually try them all.
