Applied Human Anatomy MS

The Master of Science in Applied Human Anatomy provides a concentrated program of academic study for students interested in a deeper understanding of the anatomical sciences. The program is supported with a state-of-the-art dissection laboratory, access to advanced anatomical technologies, and core faculty with expertise in anatomical sciences. Equipped with high-resolution virtual dissection tables, advanced mixed-reality headsets, industry leading plastinated specimens, 3D anatomical modeling tools, and clinical integration platforms, students will engage with human anatomy in various modes.

The Master’s in Applied Human Anatomy will serve as a strong academic bridge for students aspiring to enter medical school or other professional health programs. With a focused curriculum and intensive lab-based training, graduates will have a competitive edge in admissions, demonstrating mastery of foundational anatomical sciences and an ability to succeed in advanced graduate coursework. By completing the Master’s of Science in Applied Human Anatomy, students demonstrate their commitment to the medical sciences and readiness for the rigors of advanced education.

A minimum of 30 credits are required to complete the Master of Science in Applied Human Anatomy. The Graduate College requires a minimum of 9 credits per semester to maintain full time graduate student status.

Applicants must submit all materials directly to the Graduate College using the online admission process before admission can be considered. Admission applications are available at: https://grad-admissions.udel.edu/apply/

Applications are evaluated based on a combination of records of academic achievement, recommendations, and the applicant’s statement of professional goals and values. Priority will be given to applicants who apply by the December 15th deadline each year, with a secondary, final application deadline of July 1st. Completed applications consist of the following:

  • 2 letters of recommendation

    • One letter MUST be from a science faculty

  • Official transcripts

  • Resume

  • Personal Statement (“Essay”)

    • Outline your educational plans and career goals and discuss how your proposed plan of graduate study relates to them. Some areas of discussion might include: Specific attributes of the program at UD that lead you to believe that this degree is appropriate to help you achieve your professional objectives. Within the area of study you have selected, are there areas of special interest to you?

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • GRE scores are not required. 

 

Admission to the graduate program is competitive. Those who meet stated requirements are not guaranteed admission, nor are those who fail to meet all of those requirements necessarily precluded from admission if they offer other appropriate strengths. While there are no specific course prerequisite requirements for this program, applicants are strongly encouraged to have previous coursework in Anatomy/Physiology or related courses.
