2024 Application for MS/DI Program

January 15, 2024 – “Pre-Select Application” materials due. “Pre-Select Application” available only to current UD didactic students or graduates.

January 30, 2024– Pre-Select Applicants Notification Day. Applicants will be notified via email of the acceptance decision.

February 15, 2024

• Deadline for submission of DICAS application 11:59 p.m. Central Time (12:59 am Eastern Time).
• Deadline for submission of UD Graduate Application.
• Deadline for submission of Application Checklist
• Applicants register online with D&D Digital at www.dndgidtal.com

April 1, 2024 - Deadline to reorder D&D Digital rankings or to withdraw. If you will not be able to accept a match that may occur, you must notify D&D Digital by email (info@dnddigital) of your decision to withdraw from the Dietetic Internship matching. The $65 fee will not be refunded if an applicant withdraws from the matching process. 

April 7, 2024 – Applicant Notification Day – 6 p.m. Central Time (7 p.m. Eastern Time)

April 8, 2024 – Official Appointment Day. Contact program director by 6 p.m. Eastern Time to accept the appointment. Call 302-831-4989 or email aleef@udel.edu

April 10, 2024 – Programs with openings announced at 11:00 am Central Time (12:00pm Eastern Time).  Check the Application page for application instructions in case UD has openings.

*Important: Applicants who receive a computer match DI appointment are responsible for accepting or rejecting the match by telephone or email by 6:00 PM EDT on the  Appointment Day.

Mandatory 2024 Graduate Orientation Week: To be announced (typically late August)

Program Schedule

Year 1:

Students enrolled in the MS in Nutrition and Dietetics/Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) program will complete 27 credits during the first year of study while following UD's academic calendar. Coursework includes research methods, program planning & evaluation, statistics, current topics in nutritional sciences, nutrition informatics, advanced macronutrient metabolism, and elective coursework.

Winter and summer coursework will allow for completion of an evidence-based project before beginning the internship year.  A comprehensive examination will round out the summer semester.

Year 2:

The following are the rotation lengths for each rotation of the internship year with a minimum of 38 hours per week. Interns are expected to be present at their rotation sites Monday through Friday with the exception of the online class held on Tuesday mornings from 9:35-10:55 am Eastern Time.

Full-time
Orientation – 4 days
Clinical Nutrition – 12 weeks
Food Service Management – 7 weeks
Community Nutrition – 6 weeks
Elective – 3 weeks
Total 29 weeks

All rotations and assignments must be completed satisfactorily before a Verification Statement certifying program completion is issued.
