Applying as a freshman

 

If you are applying directly from high school and you are a US citizen or permanent resident, you are considered a domestic freshman applicant—even if you have accrued dual-enrollment college credits. View our admissions requirements and deadlines here.

 

The fall 2025 application is closed for our flagship campus in Newark. The fall 2026 application will open August 1. Apply to UD using the Common App or the Coalition application.

Explore flex pathways

 

Earn an associate degree online or at a campus close to home. Then, build on your academic foundation and transition to Newark for your bachelor’s. These options are available to all Delaware residents and select counties out-of-state.

Delawareans can also take advantage of the SEED Scholarship, which covers tuition for the two years of your associate degree and up to one additional year of your bachelor's degree!

The fall 2025 application is closed for Flex Pathways. The fall 2026 application will open August 1. Apply to UD’s Flex Pathway using the UD Online Application, the Common App or the Coalition application.

Students who have taken college courses after high school graduation are considered transfer students. 

 

The transfer application for 2025 is closed. The spring and fall 2026 application will open on August 1. Apply to transfer to UD using the UD Online Application.

 

The application priority deadline for the spring semester is Nov. 1 and the fall semester is June 1. Review our transfer website for information on the admissions process.

Applying as an international student

 

Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are considered international students, even if they currently reside in the United States. Application requirements and deadlines can be found here.

 

The international freshman application for 2025 is closed. The fall 2026 application will open on August 1. Apply to transfer to UD using the UD Online Application.

Are you an over-60 Delaware resident?


The Over-60 Tuition-Free Degree Program reflects the University of Delaware’s commitment to encouraging adults to continue their studies on a part-time or full-time basis. To be eligible for free undergraduate or graduate tuition, Delaware citizens aged 60 or over must
apply for admission using the UD Online Application and be admitted.

 

The application for 2025 is closed. The application for 2026 will open August 1.
