Aetna Health Plans

The HMO Plan and CDH Gold Plan are funded by the University of Delaware through health premiums paid by you and the University. These plans are administered by Aetna.
Transfer HRA Funds
On July 1, 2025, for employees who enrolled in the Aetna CDH Gold plan, the University of Delaware will deposit $1,250 into your Aetna HRA fund for individual coverage and $2,500 for family coverage. The HRA Fund benefit will pay 100% of eligible HRA Fund expenses (network and out-of-network). Once your maximum HRA Fund benefit is paid, you will be responsible for covered expenses until the deductible is met. Once your deductible has been met, your health expense coverage will begin to pay for covered expenses.
For those employees enrolled in the CDH Gold for plan year 2024-2025 and have remaining HRA funds, on September 30, 2025, any remaining HRA fund balance from your prior State of Delaware plan will transfer to your University of Delaware plan. At this time, no further State of Delaware claims will apply to the HRA fund. Prior to this date, any new claims under your University of Delaware plan will not have access to your prior HRA fund balance.
What you need to do
Please encourage your provider to bill Aetna as soon as possible for claims incurred prior to July 1, 2025.
