Commencement Week reminders and information
Commencement Week is upon us! This is a great time for Blue Hens everywhere. To the graduating class of 2025, you have achieved so much during your time at UD. We cannot wait to celebrate this important milestone with you.
The University of Delaware will hold its 175th Commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Delaware Stadium. College-based convocation ceremonies will also occur from Tuesday, May 20, through Friday, May 23.
As we enter this festive week, please remember the following important information:
1. All graduates and guests must have a ticket. Tickets are not interchangeable, as they are specific to each ceremony. Graduates attending more than one ceremony must reserve tickets for each ceremony for themselves (the graduate) and their guests. To ensure the safety, security and enjoyment of all graduates and guests, entry is not permitted without a ticket.
For instructions on how to reserve, claim, download and transfer tickets, please refer to the Commencement website.
2. The last day to reserve tickets is Sunday, May 18. Graduates who plan to attend any of the ceremonies must reserve their tickets by May 18. After May 18, tickets can not be guaranteed due to capacity limitations. Each ceremony will be live-streamed for those unable to attend the May 20-24 ceremonies at UDLive. Recordings will be made available for future viewing.
3. Consult our Commencement FAQs for information about parking, permitted and prohibited items, conduct guidelines, graduation photos and more. All participants and attendees deserve an orderly and dignified experience and, as such, are expected to adhere to the University of Delaware’s policies. Consult our FAQ for more information.
4. Cross getting a picture in the fountain off your UD Bucket List. Remaining times scheduled times to enter the fountain are May 20 (12–2 p.m. and 5–7 p.m.); and May 21 (12–2 p.m. and 5–7 p.m.). Be safe and follow the guidelines from the University of Delaware Police Department.
5. Get rid of your stuff responsibly — Don’t need that table or couch after graduation? The UDon’t Need It program provides students who are moving out of University of Delaware housing or off-campus residences an opportunity to put items they no longer need to good use while also being friendly to the environment.
