Canvas Connect Event
December 02, 2020
UD faculty can learn more about Canvas tools and features in a virtual event Dec. 11
University of Delaware faculty are encouraged to participate in Canvas Connect, a virtual event sponsored by Information Technologies Academic Technology Services (IT-ATS). This Canvas-centric event on Friday, Dec. 11, will have morning sessions from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. followed by a special afternoon session from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Canvas Connect morning sessions are focused around exploring new tools, media, assessments and more. Faculty are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas with colleagues and IT-ATS staff about these topics between regular 5 minute demos on the tool or topic. Faculty can pop in and out of sessions at will and will be able to visit the main Zoom room for assistance throughout the event.
Faculty interested in getting a first look at a COVID-ready classroom for spring semester are encouraged to participate in the special afternoon session hosted by IT-ATS’s instructional designers, UD Capture Team, and Canvas team, as well as IT University Media Services (IT-UMS) Classroom Technology staff. The session is designed to be an open discussion on using Canvas to reproduce learning activities in the classroom.
Participants are also welcome to join IT-ATS staff in the virtual Faculty Commons Welcome Bar from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff will be available to assist with any specific questions you have (i.e. final tests, gradebook questions, getting courses ready for 2021 winter or spring terms) or carry on a conversation from a morning Canvas Connect session.
