Registration now open for 2026 Summer Institute on Teaching

Register now to attend more than 30 sessions spread over the online and in-person days
The Summer Institute on Teaching (SIT) is an intensive and celebratory multi-day event that brings together educators from across the University of Delaware to build and strengthen a community around teaching and learning. The institute highlights emerging and established pedagogical practices, resources and technology tools with an emphasis on evidence and scholarship. It also provides a showcase for the exceptional efforts and accomplishments of UD’s educators. This year’s theme for SIT is “Back to the Basics.”
SIT 2026 Registration is now open and is required for in-person participation by May 22.
This summer’s institute will occur over two days:
May 27 online via Zoom featuring:
- Keynote address from John Warner, author and editor, titled “Being Human: Your Best Defense (And Offense) in a World with AI”
- Four, hour-long blocks of concurrent sessions
May 28 in-person on the UD campus in Newark (Pearson Hall then ISE Lab) featuring:
- Keynote address from Jessamyn Neuhaus, director of Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Syracuse University, titled “Snafu Edu: Normalizing Educators’ Setbacks, Struggles and Professorial Faceplants”
- Three, hour-long blocks of concurrent sessions
- Resource fair featuring information on programming and services from teaching and student support units
- Note: Coffee/tea, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided with advanced registration
