Elevate with Online Teaching Skills training program for online instructors starts July 20
Elevate Online Learning is a stackable professional development program for UD faculty, instructors, staff and graduate students who teach with Canvas. Developed by the new UD Center for Innovation in Lifelong Learning and Teaching, Elevate combines sound online teaching practices with hands-on use of UD digital tools to help instructors create clear, engaging and well-organized courses that support student success.
Ever wonder what your online course actually feels like to your students? Welcome to Elevate with Online Teaching Skills - Track B — a dynamic, three-week cohort program where you step into the student’s shoes. By navigating modules, meeting milestones and engaging with peers from their perspective, you’ll gain invaluable insights into the digital learning experience, all while being guided by an expert facilitator modeling best practices in real time. Elevate Online Learning is for faculty, instructors and graduate students who teach online or hybrid courses in Canvas.
This isn't just theory; it’s a practical launchpad for intentional course design. Over three weeks, you and your cohort will dive into powerful frameworks like Backward Design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). You'll apply these concepts directly to your own online course — whether you are currently teaching it or just starting to design it. You will walk away with the start of a course map and a blueprint for a more inclusive, well-aligned learning environment. Participants can take Track B without completing Elevate Online Learning Track A.
