Celebrating Pride Month
Fostering an open, inclusive community is at the heart of UD’s educational mission. Pride Month is a celebratory time for LGBTQIA+ causes and visibility, and the University of Delaware is committed to supporting those causes year-round.
Help us celebrate Pride Month by supporting our campus initiatives that empower and uplift our LGBTQIA+ community. The causes and events below are just some of the ways to get involved.
UDPride Alumni Network
The UDPride Alumni Network celebrates Blue Hens of all sexual orientations and genders. The group works to create meaningful connections between alumni and students by actively participating in programs that engage with and benefit the UD LGBTQIA+ community.
If you'd like to get involved with the group, email Ashley Ridler at aaridler@udel.edu.
Drag show Bingo
Join us on June 7 from 12 to 2 p.m. for a performance by local Drag Queen Jolene Cuisine! We’ll play four rounds of Bingo for prizes while enjoying a lunch buffet with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Attendees receive one drink ticket for an alcoholic beverage, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages are available and there is also a cash bar. The event is open to everyone 21 and older.
Center for Intercultural Engagement
Located in the Perkins Student Center, the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE) provides students a space to interact, explore and grow together around social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. CIE embraces differences, engagement, intersectional identities and inclusion as essential aspects of the Blue Hen family.
Lavender Programming Board
Lavender Programming Board (LPB) is UD’s LGBTQIA+ student-run organization, providing students an easy way to connect with others in the community. The group hosts meetings and events celebrating queerness—ranging from game and paint nights to drag shows to discussions about LGBTQIA+ topics and issues. LPB also highlights other fun and safe activities across campus.
