Volunteer Shout-Outs - February 2024

Volunteer Shout-Outs - August 2024

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations relies on a team of dedicated Blue Hen volunteers to strengthen the connections between alumni, students and the University through a variety of programs and events. Volunteers' many contributions include planning and helping to lead regional, affinity and reunion events, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities to students and serving as proud ambassadors of UD.

Here, we regularly spotlight volunteers that enhance the UD experience for students and alumni.

August 2024 Spotlights:  David Alick, AS94 and Rozalyn Moore, HS89

"UD provided me with invaluable experiences and opportunities that shaped who I am today."

Dave Alick is an active member of the University of Delaware Alumni Association (UDAA) Board of Directors and a reunion ambassador for his 30th reunion during Homecoming Weekend.

On the UDAA Board, Alick chairs the Alumni Outreach Committee, which awards funding to regional and affinity alumni clubs for events and other alumni engagement opportunities. He previously served as president of the Northern New Jersey Alumni Club and ambassador for his 20th and 25th reunion committees.

Alick’s commitment to UD extends beyond his time and talents—he is also a longtime True Blue Hen donor.

Fun Fact:

Alick was a founding member of UD's renowned Deltones a cappella group!

Why does he give back to UD?

“Giving back feels good. UD provided me with invaluable experiences and opportunities that shaped who I am today. By supporting the university, I hope to inspire and empower future generations of Blue Hens and make a lasting impact. Volunteering and choosing how to direct my financial contributions to specific programs and initiatives is incredibly rewarding.”

Rozalyn Moore is a dedicated regional ambassador for the Baltimore Blue Hen Network and is excited to also serve as a reunion ambassador for her 35th reunion, scheduled for Homecoming Weekend 2024. Her dedication to UD is evident in her previous involvement with the 30th reunion committee and her contributions to the Volunteer Admissions Support Team (VAST), where she engaged with prospective students and proudly represented the university.

Fun Fact: As a student, Moore earned a varsity letter in lacrosse and led the women’s rugby club team as president.

Why does she give back to UD?

“My years at UD were simply wonderful. The experiences I had, the people I met, and the lessons I learned have all contributed to who I am today. UD holds a special place in my heart, and giving back is my way of saying thank you to a community that has given me so much.”
