Thriving From the Start: Faculty Workshop with Dr. Laurie Schreiner
September 17, 2026
Join faculty colleagues Sept. 29 to explore strategies that help students thrive
The University will welcome Dr. Laurie A. Schreiner, Professor Emerita of Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University and a nationally recognized scholar whose research led to the development of the ThrivingQuotient.
Faculty are invited to join the Student Success Leadership Team and the Division of Student Life for a workshop with Dr. Schreiner: Thriving From the Start: The Role of Faculty in Student Success on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 12:45 to 3 p.m. in the Rodney Room, Perkins Student Center. Lunch will be provided, including vegetarian and vegan options.
Faculty play a critical role in helping students thrive. During this interactive workshop, Dr. Schreiner will present an expanded vision of student success, exploring how students become engaged intellectually, interpersonally and psychologically, and how faculty can foster those conditions through teaching practices and meaningful relationships with students.
Participants will learn practical, research-based strategies for engaging more students in learning, supporting persistence through challenges and promoting student success both inside and outside the classroom.
Registration is requested by Sunday, Sept. 27. Register for Thriving From the Start: https://forms.gle/yoX52j1z9ksJNThz8.
