The University of Delaware Faculty Senate held its first meeting of the 2026-27 academic year on Monday, Sept. 14, in Purnell Hall.

The new Senate president, Meghan McInnis-Dominguez, welcomed senators and spoke about her priorities for the coming year. The Senate recognized the recipients of the Excellence in Teaching Award and the Excellence in Undergraduate Advising and Mentoring Award. The Senate discussed a proposed change to the course-deactivation policy. Also, President Laura Carlson, Interim Provost Bill Farquhar and Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Ellen Herbst provided several updates on University business.
