Planned network outage to support Core Data Center upgrade
May 12, 2026
Campus services temporarily unavailable June 3 during critical infrastructure improvements
The University of Delaware will perform a planned network outage on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 5 p.m. to midnight to support a major upgrade to the Core Data Center.
Note: This outage was previously scheduled for March 26 and has been rescheduled to June 3.
During this maintenance window, network connectivity within the data center will be unavailable, resulting in temporary disruptions to a range of campus services. Affected systems will include PeopleSoft, UDSIS, VPN, Wi-Fi, CAS authentication, HelioCampus and other services that rely on central network infrastructure. In addition, some building systems such as fire alarms, VoIP phones and building automation panels may experience interruptions.
This upgrade is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the University’s network performance, reliability and capacity to better support academic, administrative and research activities.
UD Information Technologies (UDIT) has coordinated this work to occur during off-peak hours and will take all necessary steps to minimize downtime. Services will be restored as quickly as possible following the completion of the upgrade.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid scheduling critical work during the outage window.
