The Department of Women and Gender Studies is currently accepting proposals for the 2027 Women's Studies Faculty Research Award, funded by the Mae and Robert Carter Endowment in Women's Studies. This competitive award program is open to full-time University of Delaware faculty and provides up to $5,000 to support research on women.

The research period for this award is Sept. 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Funds may be used for travel, research costs and other expenses directly related to the proposed work. Faculty teams may apply, but the maximum award amount will not change. Preference will be given to faculty who have not received a prior award from the department. The award recipient will be notified by early September.

Awardees will share their research at the annual Carter Lecture to be held in October 2027. Chrysanthi Leon, professor of sociology, received the 2026 Carter Faculty Research Award and will present her lecture in the fall.

The deadline for submissions is Aug. 1, 2026.
