The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) is committed to partnering with faculty and staff to strengthen alumni engagement across the University. If your department works with alumni volunteers, or is interested in doing so, we’re here to help promote opportunities, recognize volunteer contributions and connect Blue Hens with meaningful ways to give back. Here’s how we can collaborate:

1. Submit department volunteer opportunities: If your department offers volunteer opportunities (i.e. speaking on panels, at event or in a classroom or contributing their time in other ways), please submit the opportunities via our volunteer opportunity form so Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) can help promote them.

2. Request appreciation for alumni volunteers: Email volunteer@udel.edu before a Blue Hen volunteer helps your department, college, or unit to receive a thank you card and a token of appreciation to deliver to the volunteer. Faculty and staff who notify Development and Alumni Relations of alumni involvement and request a note and token of appreciation will be entered into a $25 Amazon gift card drawing at the end of the fall and spring semesters.

3. Direct alumni to volunteer information: Direct Blue Hens interested in volunteering in the variety of options available across UD to DAR’s volunteer webpage where they can submit a volunteer interest form or contact or direct questions to volunteer@udel.edu.
