COVID-19 clinic set Sept. 9

Primary doses, boosters and flu shots will be available

The University of Delaware, in partnership with Albertson’s Pharmacy, will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on campus from noon-5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be distributed, and primary doses (first and second) and boosters will both be available.

Individuals who are 50 or older can now get an additional booster, four months after their prior dose, to increase their protection further. Also eligible are immunocompromised individuals, ages 12 years and older (Pfizer) or 18 years and older (Moderna) and individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Covid-19 for their first shot and booster. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for further clarification. Flu shots also will be available at this clinic for those who register.

The Sept. 9 clinic, which is open to UD faculty, staff, students and the Newark community, will be held in Pencader Dining Hall, Room 106, on the Laird Campus in Newark.

Advance registration is required, and registration will open Aug. 1. Links will be provided at that time.

Those attending the clinic should bring an identification card (driver’s license, student ID or passport),  health insurance card and vaccine card to the appointment. An insurance card is mandatory in order to receive a flu shot.

Parking for the booster vaccination event is complimentary ONLY in Clayton Hall Parking Lot# 7; this does not include metered parking spaces.
