Winter dissertation retreats

Writing Center offers structured dissertation retreats for graduate students

The University of Delaware Writing Center will offer two Dissertation Writing Retreats during the Winter 2020 session. Graduate students working on doctoral dissertations, Ed.D. portfolios, and master's thesis projects are all welcome to register.

Graduate students working on doctoral dissertations, Ed.D portfolios, and master's thesis projects are all welcome to register.

Participants in these retreats commit to spending a majority of their time writing in the Memorial Hall location of the UD Writing Center, breaking for lunch discussions on topics relevant to for participating students, including time management, motivation and writing for publication.

Lunch is provided daily. Retreats begin each day at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

Retreat 1: January 6-10

Retreat 2: January 27-31

Participants will not receive feedback from writing center staff on their writing during the retreat. Graduate students interested in feedback on works-in-progress should make an appointment with a graduate writing tutor.
