Volunteer Shout-Outs - April 2024
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations relies on a team of dedicated Blue Hen volunteers to strengthen the connections between alumni, students and the University through a variety of programs and events. Volunteers' many contributions include planning and helping to lead regional, affinity and reunion events, offering mentorship and professional development opportunities to students and serving as proud ambassadors of UD.
Here, we regularly spotlight volunteers that enhance the UD experience for students and alumni.
April 2024 Spotlights: Kelsey Edmond, BSPA14, BSPA18M, and Dustin Ramsdell, AS12

Kelsey Edmond, BSPA14, BSPA18M
"By giving back, I empower the next generation of changemakers..."
Kelsey Edmond’s philanthropic activities at UD began when she was involved in three activities as a student: serving as a Student Alumni Ambassador, participating in an alternative spring break (UDAB) and working as a student caller for the Phonathon Program. After graduating, she worked in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations from 2014 to 2018 as a member of the Parent & Family Giving team.
Edmond is currently a Regional Blue Hen Ambassador for the New York City and Northern New Jersey Blue Hen Network and a Reunion Ambassador helping to plan the Class of 2014’s 10th reunion celebration over Alumni Weekend, May 31-June 2, 2024. In addition to giving her time, Edmond is a True Blue Hen donor.
Fun Fact: Edmond studied abroad in Granada, Spain as an undergraduate student and both Cluj-Napoca, Romania and Seoul, South Korea as a graduate student.
Here’s why she gives back to UD:
"As someone who studied leadership and public policy, I care deeply about the future state of society. By giving back, I empower the next generation of changemakers and ensure they have the opportunities they need to tackle the complex challenges of our time."

Dustin Ramsdell, AS12
"I believe we can do amazing things when our community comes together..."
Dustin Ramsdell is a member at large on the UD Alumni Association Board of Directors and participates on the Outreach Committee. He also serves as a Blue Hen Regional Ambassador for the New Castle County Blue Hen Network, for which he plans events including the popular monthly meetups. In 2022, Ramsdell served on his 10th reunion committee as an ambassador to assist with planning the reunion celebration and encouraging attendance. In addition to giving his time, Dustin is a True Blue Hen donor.
Fun UD Fact: Ramsdell was a Resident Assistant for two years when he was a student, which paved the way for his current career in higher ed!
Here’s why he gives back to UD:
“I’m a very proud Blue Hen because I grew a lot personally during my time on campus. I want to give back to support giving this type of experience to more students and make sure the institution has everything it needs to be successful. I believe we can do amazing things when our community comes together and everyone chips in a little toward a common goal.”
