School of Nursing awarded coveted Jonas Scholarship award

May 26, 2021 Written by Nicolette Jimenez

Earlier this month, Jonas Nursing and Veterans Healthcare chose the University of Delaware School of Nursing to receive a grant to support one Jonas Scholar in the 2021-2023 cohort.

This scholarship empowers nursing students through financial assistance, leadership development and networking support to expand the pipeline of future nursing faculty, researchers and advanced practice nurses.

The UD School of Nursing Jonas Nurse Scholar will be a part of the new 2021-2023 cohort of more than 75 Scholars pursuing PhD, DNP or EdD degrees. They will join more than 1,000 Jonas Scholar alumni representing 157 universities across all 50 states.

As the recipient of this grant, the School of Nursing will join Jonas Philanthropies’ efforts to improve the quality of healthcare by investing in nursing scholars whose research and clinical foci specifically address our nation’s most urgent needs.
