Monthly virtual info sessions also held for those interested in teacher preparation
The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) Montessori Teacher Academy will host a Montessori 101 Webinar March 5 at 7 p.m., offering a free introduction to the foundations of Montessori education and the child centered philosophy pioneered by Maria Montessori.
The webinar will review what Montessori is, who Maria Montessori was and how her philosophy comes to life in real classrooms — from the prepared environment to the role of the teacher and the child’s work.
In addition to the webinar, the UD Montessori Teacher Academy will offer a series of virtual information sessions for those interested in its Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) approved teacher preparation pathways. Participants will meet program staff and learn about certification options, training formats and the support provided during the two year UD Montessori Teacher Residency.
Upcoming Zoom information sessions include:
- Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
- March 23 at 5 p.m.
- April 22 at 7 p.m.
- May 21 at 6 p.m.
- June 2 at 5 p.m.
The UD Montessori Teacher Academy partners with schools and educators to support high quality Montessori implementation and offers accredited programs for Elementary I/II and Primary training.
