UD faculty invited to explore GenAI on their own terms

Fall course offers faculty practical guidance for using generative AI at UD

University of Delaware faculty interested in becoming more comfortable and effective with generative artificial intelligence are invited to participate in “Prompted, Not Pushed: GenAI, on YOUR Terms,” a new course offered during the fall 2026 semester.

Designed for continuing track and tenure track faculty, the course is intended especially for those who are less familiar with generative AI, are uncertain about how to get started or want to use the technology more effectively in their professional activities at UD.

The course will be facilitated by Mark Serva and Ellen Monk of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. Participants will explore practical ways to incorporate generative AI into their work, including how to write more effective prompts and how generative AI tools use personal information.

The course is supported by UD’s Center for Innovative Learning and Learning Transformation (CILLT) and a Paul Rickards grant awarded to Serva. The support will help provide faculty with an approachable environment for learning about generative AI and determining how the technology can best serve their individual needs.

Faculty do not need prior expertise with generative AI to participate. In fact, the course is specifically designed to help those who are still figuring out where, and whether the technology fits into their work

Registration is open for fall 2026. Register for “Prompted, Not Pushed: GenAI, on YOUR Terms.”
