Open Teaching Days Fall 2026: Active Learning in the Classroom

Interest Form for Open Teaching Days Fall 2026

UD’s Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL) is hosting a weeklong Open Teaching Days event from Monday, October 12 to Friday October 16. This fall, we aim to showcase various approaches to active learning and student engagement across the university. In a time when many instructors are seeing diminished student participation and motivation, we hope to broaden our collective perspective on what engaged learning can look like and how to accomplish it.

This is an open call for anyone who will teach a course in Fall 2026 (excluding graduate students) to open up their classroom to a handful of UD visitors including: faculty, staff, university leaders and members of the board of trustees to showcase your teaching. If you are interested in opening your classroom, please complete the interest form (linked below) by Monday, August 31, 2026. Attendee registration will open on September 21, 2026.

We hope you will join our sixth run of Open Teaching Days and help us create a schedule of courses that offers an excellent variety of teaching practices and academic disciplines for our attendees to experience.
