Public health students invited to hear from, connect with professionals and community organizations
Students from across Delaware’s colleges and universities are invited to join in the University of Delaware Partnership for Public Health for a dynamic half-day event bringing together faculty, community partners, and state leaders to explore innovation, community engagement and health equity in Delaware at Empower & Engage: The Public Health Exchange on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Audio at the Tower at STAR.
Keynote speaker Dr. Priscilla Mpasi, assistant medical director at ChristianaCare, population health officer and pediatrician will speak about her role in shaping public health’s future.
A panel of public health professionals will include:
- Moderator Daniel Harris, assistant professor and PhD Program Director, UD’s Department of Epidemiology
- Dr. Marshala Lee-Mccall, family medicine physician and director of Harrington Trusts, ChristianaCare
- Dr. Claudine Jurkovitz, nephrologist epidemiologist and director of clinical research, Institute for Research on Equity and Community Health, ChristianaCare
- Jennifer Horney, founding director and professor, UD’s Department of Epidemiology,
- Tyler Berl, executive director, Delaware HIV Consortium
