Call for New DENIN working groups

DENIN seeks new integrated environmental research and education efforts

The Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) is looking to support additional areas of interdisciplinary environmental research and education by way of a new working group. DENIN working groups provide a platform that brings together individuals with a wide array of expertise under a central interest or issue.

The Institute currently hosts two working groups. Experts in the Fast Fashion group are developing technology, processes and education programs promoting sustainable practices in the apparel industry. In the Salinization and Infrastructure group, researchers are working to better understand and mitigate the impacts of sea-level rise on coastal buildings, water systems, roads and other infrastructures.

Working groups receive administrative support from DENIN staff, including customized grant portfolios, meeting arrangements and pre- and post-award support. Groups are eligible for up to $10,000 in annual seed funding.

More details about the program, including instructions for completing a two-page application, are available in this document. Applications are received on a rolling basis.

Questions related to DENIN Working Groups can be directed to Sam Clem (samclem@udel.edu).
