First, Matt Robinson, professor of sport management, will serve as the Faculty Athletics Representative, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The Faculty Athletics Representative plays a critical role in ensuring academic integrity, supporting student-athlete success and maintaining institutional control of athletics while fostering communication among faculty, administration and athletics.

A member of the UD faculty since 2001 and a former Faculty Senate president, Robinson has deep ties to athletics, having been a former college coach who previously served UD as an interim athletic director.   

Robinson is currently president-elect of the Faculty Senate and chairs the Coordinating Committee on Education. Faculty Senate President John Jebb said Robinson will continue as president-elect through 2025 and will be available as a Senate officer through January. The Senate will hold an election for president-elect, likely at its February meeting, and the new president-elect will assume office immediately. 

Second, Jordan Skolnick has been invited to formally interview as a finalist for the role of UD director of athletics and campus recreation. 

Skolnick has served as the interim UD director since March. He previously served as the senior deputy athletic director of revenue generation and sport administration for UD Athletics. Skolnick joined UD in 2016 after overseeing fundraising for University of Michigan Athletics. 

An advisory committee is being formed, and a formal review process will take place before the end of the semester, with an opportunity for Skolnick to address the campus community and to gather community input. Additional information about the schedule and the advisory committee roster will be forthcoming.
