Support of Survivors (SOS)

SOS is transitioning from Sexual Offense Support to Support of Survivors

SOS in Student Wellbeing has rebranded from Sexual Offense Support to Support of Survivors. SOS peer educators facilitate interactive sexual misconduct programs that focus on understanding sexual violence and dating/domestic violence and/or stalking, how to support survivors and build community support and how violence impacts a student and the campus community. A peer educator from SOS can provide in-person support during events and programs that have themes of sexual misconduct and may have an emotional impact on participants. SOS peer educators are expected to complete an in-depth training program before facilitating programs or providing audience support. Peer educators are compensated with $15/hour. Recruitment takes place each spring semester, with training the following August. Interested students can email Zainab Shah at zshah@udel.edu for more information.

For students seeking immediate support in these areas, the UD Helpline is still available 24/7 at 302-831-1001 and will now be answered by licensed clinicians instead of students. Students can also use the TimelyCare app for free 24/7 using the TalkNow feature for on-demand emotional support.
