Campus Safety Update

UD Police investigating reports of burglaries in academic buildings

University of Delaware Police are investigating three burglaries that occurred this week in academic buildings located on the University’s Newark campus. Also this week, the Newark Police Department is conducting an investigation into an off-campus burglary that occurred on Continental Avenue.

UD Police reminds members of the UD community to remain vigilant in order to safeguard against becoming a victim of burglary:

  • Secure all doors and windows. For resident students who live in a suite-style space, secure the doors to personal spaces and the entryways to common living spaces.

  • Be cognizant of who is entering buildings, by preventing others you may not know from “tailgating” into a residence hall, for example.

  • Call 911 to report suspicious activity or dial 302-831-UDPD.

  • Download the free smartphone app, LiveSafe, to submit tips to police, receive important notifications, and contact UD Police directly.

  • Utilize the campus blue light emergency telephones.
