Nominations for Green Hen Awards accepted

Office of Sustainability seeks nominations through April 30

The University of Delaware’s Office of Sustainability is accepting nominations for its third annual Green Hen Award, which is given to outstanding students, faculty and staff members for contributions to the University’s campus and community sustainability efforts.

"UD is a national leader in environmental research, teaching and campus and community engagement,” said Chris Williams, associate provost and academic director for the Office of Sustainability. “These awards will provide recognition to our community members who are dedicated to making our University more sustainable.”

The deadline for Green Hen Award nominations is April 30, and winners will be announced by May 15. Recipients will receive formal recognition as well as a financial award. Nominations can be submitted via the Green Hen Award online form. Previous awardees include students Thomas Benson and Kristie Arlotta, and staff and faculty members Larry Armstrong, Angelia Seyfferth and Steve Hegedus.

The Office of Sustainability is committed to practicing and enhancing the principles of sustainability across operations, academics, student life, research and community engagement as outlined in UD’s Strategic Plan. Celebrating the many dedicated members of the UD community who are actively making UD’s campus greener and helping to better position the University as a leader in sustainability is the goal of the Green Hen Awards.
