Library announces Winter Session schedule

Hours of operation from Jan. 10 through end of Winter Session

UD Library, Museums and Press will open its spaces on Monday, Jan. 10, and through the remainder of Winter Session to all faculty, staff, students and the greater UD community.

The physical hours of operation in Morris Library will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday; and 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Follow this link for hours of operation of all branch libraries, including the Education Resource Center.

Below are updates for specific service offerings during Winter Session:

Student Multimedia Design Center

The studio rooms, the microfilm room, and the film and video viewing area will be closed. User accommodations for checkout of SDMC equipment and film and video materials, and retrieval of microform will be available by staff. A VHS viewing station and a microfilm reader will also be available directly outside of these respective spaces.

Reference Services

Ask the Library, the online chat service, will be available online from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday; and 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday. A reference librarian will also be in Morris Library and on call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Instruction services will proceed as currently scheduled for Winter Session, including in-person classes. Other online resources, including e-books, e-journals and databases, are accessible 24/7.

Special Collections & Museums

The Old College, Mechanical Hall and Mineralogical Museums will be closed during Winter Session. The spaces will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Information about upcoming exhibitions, online exhibitions and programs is available here. The Special Collections reading room and gallery will be open by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Researchers may schedule an appointment by sending an email to AskSpec@udel.libanswers.com or by calling 302-831-2229. To ensure proper physical distancing, reading room access will be limited to four researchers at a time.
