Performance opportunities for three children at the REP

The REP is calling for three young performers, ages 7 to 11, in upcoming productions

This coming January, the Resident Ensemble Players, UD's resident professional theatre company, will be holding auditions for three boys for roles in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All to You and Medea. Auditions will take place the first week of January at Hartshorn Hall on the University of Delaware main campus, on the corner of Academy Street and Park Place.

  • Auditions: Saturday, Jan. 7
  • Callbacks: Sunday, Jan. 8

Performance opportunities include the roles of Thomas in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All to You by Christopher Durang and Medea's children in Medea by Euripides.

Role of Thomas

7-year-old boy, speaking role. Actor can be older as long as he can appear as young as 7 or 8 years old. Children auditioning for Thomas in will be sent a short scene to get familiar with.

Important dates of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You production include:

  • First Rehearsal: Jan. 31, 2023
  • Opens: March 8, 2023
  • Closes: March 12, 2023

Roles of Medea’s children

Ages 7 and 11, featured roles, but no lines. Children auditioning for Medea do not need to prepare anything ahead of audition.

Important dates of Medea production include:

  • First Rehearsal: March 13, 2023
  • Opens: April 15, 2023
  • Closes: April 30, 2023
