Course listings updated:  Course listings with the updated instructional format details (online, in-person and hybrid) are now available on the course search tool.

Modified pass/no credit option: On July 20, the Faculty Senate passed a resolution to use the modified pass/no credit grading option for the fall 2020 semester. Details will be posted on the Return to Campus webpage by Aug. 5.

Parents and Family Weekend postponed: This academic year’s Parents and Family Weekend (originally scheduled for Oct. 2-4) has been moved to the spring. The date has not yet been determined. Oct. 2, 2020, will be UD’s first Family Appreciation Day. UD students will be encouraged to participate in a day dedicated to appreciating the support persons in their life: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, spouses, children, friends and other guardians that form their support systems.

UDairy Creamery Market hours: The Creamery Newark walk-up window is now open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., seven days a week. The UDairy Creamery Market in Wilmington reopened July 25 and is open from noon-8 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from noon-9 p.m., Friday and Saturdays. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Accommodations in Lewes: Conference Services has reopened the Virden Center Overnight Lodges in Lewes exclusively for UD faculty and staff. Each of the 23 rooms has a private entrance, private bath and private screened-in porch. For information on additional details, safety protocols and rates, visit the Welcome Back to Virden page or call 302-645-4110.

Fall sports moved to spring: In conjunction with the decision of the Colonial Athletic Association, UD announced July 17 that it would suspend all fall sports until the spring. UD President Dennis Assanis said, “The health and safety of all participants in our athletics program, including our loyal fans, is absolutely paramount for all of us at UD.”

Student Financial Services: Please note the undergraduate billing timeline for Fall 2020 has been adjusted. Billing notifications are scheduled to be emailed the week of Aug. 3. This will result in a revised installment plan of three monthly payments for families who elect to participate in the plan. More information is available on the Student Financial Services website.

Research: Virtual Research Town Halls will be presented by Charlie Riordan, vice president for research, scholarship and innovation, every other Monday, from now through August. The next town hall will be held from 1-2 p.m., Monday, August 3. Register here. The town halls are recorded and archived on this webpage.

Academic Affairs for faculty and staff: Faculty and staff are invited to register for the next Academic Affairs Town Hall, scheduled from 1-2 p.m., Friday, July 31. To join the Zoom session, faculty and staff must register in advance here. Please submit questions in advance via this form to allow panelists time to gather answers and respond during the webinar. Faculty and instructional staff are encouraged to visit https://sites.udel.edu/provost/continuity/ for more information about the town halls and for specific resources for faculty regarding online teaching and classroom protocols.

Support resources: Students in need of counseling and support may call UD’s Center for Counseling and Student Development at 302-831-2141 or the UD Helpline, which is available at any time, day or night, for students feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed or otherwise in need of counseling. Students can call 302-831-1001 to get live counseling assistance 24/7. Additional information may be found at the center’s website. All UD employees, their spouses, dependents, parents and in-laws may access the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) by calling 800-343-2186 or visiting the program’s website. If using the website, UD employees should enter "State of Delaware" as the password.
