Faculty award nominations sought

Two awards highlight excellence in scholarship, community engagement

Nominations are now being accepted for two University of Delaware faculty honors: the Mid-Career Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award and, new this year, the Faculty Excellence in Scholarly Community Engagement Award.

Awardees for both honors are selected by the Faculty Senate’s Committee on Student and Faculty Honors, and the deadline for submissions for both awards is March 1.

The Mid-Career Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award, which highlights the University’s commitment to excellence in research, scholarship and creative endeavors, will be presented to mid-career faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to their scholarly field. Complete award details are available online.

New this year is the Faculty Excellence in Scholarly Community Engagement Award, which will be given to a faculty member who has displayed excellence in mutually beneficial, scholarly engaged teaching, research or creative activities and/or service. The committee will designate one award each year only if there is a truly excellent candidate to justify such action. Complete award details are available online.
