On-demand transportation solution available

UD partners with Enterprise CarShare

The University of Delaware is partnering with Enterprise CarShare to provide students, faculty and staff with an on-campus, on-demand transportation solution.

A service of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Enterprise CarShare offers an affordable and convenient way to rent a vehicle by the hour, the day, or overnight.

Spaces for Enterprise Carshare vehicles are located in several campus parking lot locations, including Thomas McKean Residence Hall and Christiana Towers, Pearson Hall and the Morris Library.

UD students, faculty and staff can now access a CarShare vehicle from one of several convenient campus parking lot locations, including lots at Thomas McKean Residence Hall and Christiana Towers on the Laird Campus, Pearson Hall on Academy Street and Morris Library on South College Avenue. In addition to these locations, a CarShare vehicle also will be available at the Trabant University Center and Alison Hall after the new year.

Enterprise’s user-friendly technology allows renters to reserve vehicles 24/7, and the low hourly and daily rates include gas, insurance and 200 miles per day. To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Enterprise is waiving the application fee and the first year’s membership fee for all new UD members. In addition, new UD members will receive $10 driving credits and $5/hour rates until Dec. 31, 2018.

Program membership is open to students, faculty and staff ages 18 and up. To enroll, applicants must register online and provide a valid University of Delaware email address. After receiving a membership card in the mail, members can rent a vehicle by following four easy steps. And, with the Enterprise CarShare app for iPhone and Android users, U.S. members can make or modify reservations, extend rentals and choose pick-up locations, all from their mobile device.

Enterprise CarShare is an economical alternative to car ownership, as well as an environmentally friendly and hassle-free supplement to public transit. And, since it’s backed by Enterprise’s award-winning customer service, it delivers convenience and reliability to members in select markets across the country.

For additional details about Enterprise CarShare, a representative will be at the Trabant University Center from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11. Information is also available at  www.enterprisecarshare.com and the Enterprise CarShare Facebook page or follow @carshare on Twitter.
