The University of Delaware's Bachelor of Arts in Game Studies and Esports prepares majors for excellence in a broad range of careers in the video game industry and related fields.
Today's video game developers and publishers aren't just looking for qualified programmers and designers, they need well-balanced experts in cultural awareness, marketing, management, education, communication, law and health. The University of Delaware’s Game Studies and Esports major is designed to match students’ academic and professional interests. Along with the core curriculum, students select a focus area in Games, Culture and Society, Game Design and Development, and Game Industry and Esport Management.

Capstone
The capstone is the culminating experience of the game studies and esports major. Students choose between two pathways: an analytical capstone, focused on individual academic research and a writing project, or a practical capstone, where students work collaboratively to create a video game.
Both options allow students to synthesize their coursework, demonstrate their strengths and connect their studies to future creative, professional or graduate opportunities.
Internship
Students complete a hands-on internship during their junior or senior year. Placements have included:
