Addressing Pediatric Health Inequities through a School Nurse Academic Partnership

Delaware’s school nurses are our front-line pediatric public health care providers who are critical to the health and well-being of our children and youth. As lifelong learners, they are tasked with staying on top of current health trends and issues (i.e., immunization updates, surges in illnesses, novel medications, and side effects, etc.), and the disparities that arise within different populations of students.
To help our school nurses fulfil this critical role, the University of Delaware College of Health Sciences School of Nursing have partnered with the University of Delaware Partnership for Healthy Communities and nurses from across the state to host a professional development day on October 13th, 2023. We hope that the activities and learning opportunities from this day can contribute to quality nursing services that are current and meet the needs of our children and youth.

A coach will be available to bring school nurses registered for the professional development day from Scarborough Road Park & Ride, Dover (#37; Dart Park and Ride Map).
The coach will be departing from the Scarborough Road Park & Ride at 7:30 am with an approximate arrival time of 8:15 am at the Health Sciences Campus, University of Delaware.
For the return journey, the coach will depart from the Health Sciences Campus, University of Delaware at 4:00 pm
