About

Global climate change is the key challenge of our time.

It impacts each person and touches every discipline in the University. Collaboration is crucial to fully understand climate change impacts and develop solutions for society and the planet.

The Gerard J. Mangone Climate Change Science and Policy Hub promotes collaboration and brings together students, faculty, stakeholders and specialists to position the University of Delaware as a national leader in climate change education, research and innovation. Together we discover and implement solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.

About the Mangone Climate Change Hub

The Climate Change Hub serves as the University of Delaware’s climate engagement infrastructure—connecting people in ways that strengthen recruitment, reputation, research teams, external partnerships, and real-world impact.

Unlike a traditional research center that fosters research among a core group, the Hub lowers barriers to engagement with climate change research, teaching, and applications across campus and throughout the region, creating pathways that connect students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and regional partners.

The Hub’s engagement infrastructure supports student success and career outcomes; advances UD’s land/sea/space grant mission to translate research into practice and engage communities to improve equity; and increases the University’s visibility and reputation as a regional and national source of climate expertise: all pillars of UD’s Strategic Plan. Hub initiatives support student recruitment and retention and build partnerships that provide strong foundations for grants and visibility for philanthropic donors.
