Join University of Delaware’s College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) for a colloquium with Joona Moberg, doctoral researcher in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Turku, from 1:50 to 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in room 205 of Willard Hall Education Building.

Moberg’s research focuses on understanding teaching scripts, the mental combination of professional and practical knowledge with the representations, assessments and predictions of different classroom events. In addition to this area, Moberg has also researched or published on teachers' agency and science literacy skills, student teachers' purposefulness and game-based learning approaches. He has developed innovative learning solutions to promote scientific awareness, information literacy skills and teachers’ professional development, including pedagogical tools that use gamified approaches.

Moberg’s colloquium will share results from a research study on teaching scripts and teacher knowledge with more than 180 primary school teachers who participated in an online professional development course. His talk is titled “‘So That’s How it Works’: Investigating Teachers' Knowledge Restructuring in the Context of an Online Professional Development Course.”

The colloquium, part of a year-long series hosted by CEHD’s School of Education, is free and open to the public. Audience members are also welcome to participate in a discussion with the speaker following the colloquium.
