Seitz Award 2026 Nominations Open

Nominations are now open for the George and Margaret Collins Seitz Award.

Nominations are open now through March 11 for the Seitz Award, celebrating outstanding first or second-year undergraduate students. Coordinated through Student Life by Student Advocacy and Support, this annual award recognizes a first-year or second-year undergraduate student who embodies the Division of Student Life values statement.

The fund for the George and Margaret Collins Seitz Award was established in 1954 at the University of Delaware by Margaret Seitz to honor the memory of her mother and father. This annual recognition, which includes a $1,500 award, is presented each spring to a first-year or second-year undergraduate student who exemplifies outstanding character by demonstrating and encouraging in others the Division of Student Life values statement of Amplify Student Voice, Pursue Equity, Transformational Collaboration, Learning and Innovation, Integrity and Respect.

Nominees must be matriculated first-year or second year undergraduate students in good academic and disciplinary standing who plan to continue at the University of Delaware. They may be from any major, may live on or off campus, and are not required to demonstrate financial need. The award winner will be chosen by a faculty/staff/student committee and announced prior to commencement.

All faculty, staff, students, and student self nominations may submit nominations online through March 11 by 5 p.m.
