UDIT Launches New Lunch & Learn Series

IDA shares how data reporting at UD has evolved — encore session Aug. 12.

UDIT recently kicked off a new Lunch & Learn series with an inaugural session, "The Evolution of Data Reporting at UD: Past Practices, Modern Tools, and Future Insights," featuring Heather Kelly, Priya Choudula, and Allison Walters from Institutional Data and Analytics (IDA).

The in-person session, held at the Research Computing Center, gave attendees an inside look at how IDA's work has evolved over time—from the team's own history and name changes to the dashboards and data resources currently available, and a preview of what's ahead.

"I appreciated the overview of available dashboards and data and hearing about what they have in the pipeline for what's to come," said Denise Wank. "I thought it was a great session—for both myself and especially for those newly introduced to IDA and the work they do."

For Rachel Lapp, the session highlighted just how far IDA's reach extends across campus. "IRE is very cross functional and supports so much of the campus, but that doesn't always mean all their points of contact are in contact with each other," Lapp said. "It was nice to see that change here, to consider possible points of intersection based on the kinds of thinking and data collection that was shared."

Given the session's overview format, it's especially useful for anyone who doesn't work closely with IDA day-to-day—a chance to understand what the team offers and how their data resources might support your own work.

The session will be offered again virtually on August 12, open to all UD faculty and staff. Register at https://udel.zoom.us/meeting/register/Yv4QGfPVQEivrHWHOL-14g

This Lunch & Learn is part of a new UDIT pilot program mixing virtual and in-person sessions on topics of interest to the campus community, with more sessions planned for the fall.
